The Chilmark Community Center (CCC) is seeking operations interns to support the daily programming needs and operations of the summer camp program. Interns will assist with administrative tasks such as program planning, communications, and event coordination. This internship provides a well-rounded introduction to nonprofit leadership, combining direct service with behind-the-scenes operations. Interns will receive mentorship in community engagement, curriculum development, and organizational management.
The Chilmark Community Center is a social center for the townspeople of Chilmark and the island of Martha’s Vineyard, summer visitors, and year-round residents alike. In July and August the Center hosts a variety of programs for children, their families, and adults that offers Playschool for children ages 3 to 5, a morning program with a full range of activities for kids ages 6 to 14, yoga and fitness classes & activities for adults, a tennis and sailing program for all ages, and an evening and weekend program of lectures, music, and special events.

Duties + Responsibilities
Partner with our leadership team on the behind-the-scenes work that keeps camp running
Support medical registration, ordering, and logistics for community programs
Gain insight into nonprofit operations, administration, and event coordination
Build organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills

Entry-level roles are open to current high school students
College students and recent graduates are welcome for more advanced responsibilities

Coursework or experience in education, child development, athletics, performing arts, business, operations, or a related field is a plus — but not required
Prior camp, coaching, tutoring, babysitting, or volunteer experience is valued

Compensation
Compensation: $16-$25/hour depending on candidate’s level of experience

CAMP! Internship Program Requirements
BootCAMP!
CAMP! interns are required to participate in BootCAMP – a weekend of in-person professional development workshops. Topics covered include professionalism, goal setting, skill development, financial wellness, and preparing a professional profile.
Upon completion, interns will receive a certificate of completion. Exemptions may be permitted under exceptional circumstances.
When: Saturday + Sunday | June 27 + 28, 2026
